So I went to yoga last night. I am lucky enough to get to go for free through the company I work for which is a HUGE benefit to me since I otherwise wouldn't be able to afford to pay $10+ for classes. Anyway, it was just soooo nice to go. I hadn't been in a few months and needed that cleansing feeling that it gives me. Our instructor was awesome too which made it even better. He played funky yet soothing music unlike the common instructors that play Enya or something like that. That's nice once in a while, but I found his music selection much more inspiring and I just really got into it. Of course now I'm really really sore! Can't wait to go again tomorrow night.
There is something about practicing yoga that nothing else can do for me. It's not only for your body, flexibility, strength, etc...but it does something incredible for my mind...The breathing seems to soothe and cleanse my soul - even if it lasts only for that hour or so, it's enough peace to comfort me and make me feel like everything is going to be alright.
Alex (our instructor) started and ended the class with some words that I just loved - of course I can't remember them exactly, but basically he said that Wisdom is not a million little bits of information, Wisdom is opening yourself completely and being vulnerable. I just need to find that quote because it was really inspiring and of course my interpretation into words on this blog doesn't do it justice! Until then...namaste.
