So Jay and I went to Bed Bath & Beyond one day recently after church and got started on our wedding registry. I walked into the gigantic store thinking that it would be a fun "shopping trip". Was I ever wrong! After receiving instructions on the "gun" which we were to use to scan each desired piece of our future home together, I realized that we had no idea what we were doing. We had not yet discussed our views on teal vs. indigo, oak vs. cherry, and nonstick vs. stainless steel....which is where the real "fun" began.
Jay likes stainless - how pretty it is and how nicely it sears and caramelizes. I like nonstick and how easily it cleans up (it is pretty too)! We went back and forth for at least 5-10 minutes & decided to move on. What's next? Dish towels. He likes one color, I like the other. We moved on.
I think the real issue is that we do not yet have a HOME. I love our place and it has been good for the time being, but it will not be where we have our family. We do not have "grown up" furniture and therefore I don't know what size tablecloth to request, or what color accent pillows we will want.
It has been a few weeks since this visit to the store...we don't yet have any firm style choices, but are starting to go through it slowly, making sure that we keep it classic so that trendy or colorful pieces can be added and switched out later as our tastes change!
Who ever said that shopping is theraputic?!
