I look forward to Sunday mornings. Waking up without the sound of my alarm, making my way downstairs to a fresh cup of coffee, and curling up with my cozy red blanket for some downtime before I start my day.
This morning was different. Jay was up all night checking on the flight that he was going to be meeting at Sky Harbor this morning. Due to strong headwinds, it was HOURS later than normal. Regardless, I did wake up without the sound of my alarm and eased my way out of bed looking forward to my relaxing morning. This is where it did a 180. I went pee, flushed, and started down the stairs to the sound of water pouring onto the floor. The toilet overflowed. This was my worst nightmare (well actually my worst nightmare is it happening at someone else's house). I am not pointing any fingers to the imagined culprit, but felt confident that the said culprit was on his way to work.
I rushed to grab the plunger only to have it's size displacing more water to the floor. On my tippy toes, I plunged away...hoping that it would quickly start receding. I called Jay frantic, "help! the toilet is pouring water all over the place!". He apologized, made a few comments I will not share with you innocent readers, and let him go to get back to my cleaning. Ran downstairs to get the mop and started soaking it up & squeezing it into the sink...slowly making a dent in the 1/4" or so of pee-water on the floor. Woosh! The water started receding and I eventually soaked up every last drop only to have to do it again, this time with floor cleaner and then a final rinse.
Eventually, I got downstairs to curl up on the couch (sans coffee) & watch this past week's episodes of Martha Stewart...this time truly deserving it!!!

Isn't life fun :)
Ha ha ha. Boys. That's what I call them! They have issues in regards to making messes in the bathroom. If it isn't poop smears, pee drips or hair from the razor, it's nasty looking toothbrushes that should have been replaced months ago. Or, toothpaste drips. I don't know who they think is going to clean them up...oops. I forgot, I'm a stay-at-home mom & housekeeper 24/7 and when I get a real job, he'll split the responsibility. However, he does do a mean load of laundry and load the dishwasher like he's getting ready to make a "how-to" film on dishwasher loading.
I've had a headache going on a week now. Can't think straight enough to post anything new. But, I love your updates!
Just think of it this way... it's better than having the flip side - diarrhea - and THEN the overflow! EWWWW... now that would have been hands down a whole lot worse! Remember pee is suppose to be "sterile" - so just remember - pee is better than poo!
Love you!
