Gift of Life

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I gave blood today and I feel good about it! Did you know that every 2 seconds someone in the US needs blood? There is urgent need, especially in Phoenix this time of year, for blood donation. The great thing about it is that it doesn't take long and doesn't hurt!!

I have to thank my dad for instilling the importance of this service into me as a young girl. I remember going with him to the Red Cross every other month for his donation. I'd hang with the staff while dad gave his pint, then I got to enjoy the canteen with him afterwards! Nothing better than cookies and juice as an 8 year old!

If you have given in the past, consider going again (65% of the population gives just once in their lifetime). If you never have, consider giving it a try. There is a good chance that somebody you know will need it at some point.
