Rain Dance

Have you ever really liked something but couldn't justify purchasing it? I'm in that quandry with wellies. The cute waterproof rubber boots that started showing up in stores a few years ago. Reborn from the boring yellow ones back in the day into beautiful "works of art", I just want to get my hands on a pair! It seems as though most stores come out with a new line each spring and I can't help but oogle at the beautiful colors and patterns wishing, just wishing that I had one good reason to purchase them.

But that's the problem. I don't have a good reason. I live in Arizona. The desert. Where it rains only a few times a year.

*sigh*

So, I'm curious! Does anyone have something like this that they want but can't justify? Not because of money because these can be pretty inexpensive...but something that you can't justify because of where you live/work/play? Humor me!!

Hmmmm. I have to think about that one. I, actually, WANT those boots. But, rainy season lasts all of 6-8 wks here and it's over. I don't know if I'd need them in Kansas.

But, as for other things I want but don't need - an ice cream maker. I want one b/c so much of the ice cream out there is junk ice cream. I don't usually keep it in the house and B&J's is what I get when we are in the mood (if/when I find it around here). Maybe I should keep it that way. I mean, I'm trying to break my family's cycle of over-eating/eating badly. I don't need a IC Maker. I only want one so my kids can grow up having homemade, fresh ice cream in the flavors they choose. Blueberry picking with mom=homemade blueberry ice cream later. But, if we had one, would we use it too much?????

I have those boots!!! Mine are Black and White plaid and we got them in Germany when I was not prepared for the rain and the snow we had to walk in everyday...I love them and wish I could wear them again sometime.
I really don't need kiddie pool in the backyard...I could always go over to my inlaws pool or the community pool down the road for 50 cents, but I want to soak in it so bad during the summer months of pregnancy

Nat - we have an ice cream maker that we got as a gift (thanks Todd & May!!) that we love. Especially here in the summer - there is nothing like homemade ice cream! BUT...we don't use it as much as I'd like to. Probably because Jay could eat it all in one sitting!! The one tip I will tell you if you do buy one is to don't even bother with making frozen yogurt. It's disgusting. You must only make 100%fatty creamy ice cream.

Tara - I think a kiddie pool is a great thing to have ESPECIALLY here in the desert regardless of if you are pregnant or not! 120 degrees is just not comfortable no matter how you swing it!
