Just over 2 weeks ago, on a trip home to Vermont, Jay proposed!! He nonchalantly asked where Shelburne Farms (one of my most favorite VT locations) was on a drive back from a lunch in Middlebury with my dad. I told him that it might be closed since most places are until after Memorial Day in Vermont (which hopefully by then most places are thawed out from a long winter)...but went anyway to see if the gate was open. Luckily, the open gates and lack of a guard at the time welcomed us to the estate...we drove through the windy dirt road until we reached the perfect spot - right on the shore of Lake Champlain where we took a short walk. He nervously popped the question with the most beautiful diamond ring! Of course, I said "yes" and I've been walking on Cloud 9 ever since :)
We are planning a Summer 2008 wedding in Burlington, VT and I'm excited to get started on planning the details!!
