Jay and I went to dinner Saturday afternoon with Ryan and Kelley. Yes, I said afternoon, not evening as it was 4pm that we picked Kelley up for dinner. The location of said dinner was a surprise picked out by none other than my surprise-loving fiance. We ended up going to Midwestern Meats which is a place Jay and I read about in the paper over a year ago, ripped out the article, and has been posted on the fridge ever since. It is a 3-in-1 experience with a gigantic butcher shop, bakery, and restaurant.
Upon entering, we noticed that there were only 2 or 3 occupied tables in the place (due of course to the fact that it was only 4:30pm). Next, and rather quickly I must say, we noticed that we were a good 50 years younger than those at the other tables in the establishment!! One table even sat a woman with an oxygen tank by her side!!
Needless to say, we had a very lovely dinner of prime rib with one of the best twice baked potatoes I've ever had! Check out the dish:

After a scrumdidlyumptious steak dinner, we headed to Graham Central Station (for you that aren't in AZ, it's a large bar with several different "rooms" - one being Karaoke, another Hip Hop, 70s/80s, and finally Country) for some beverages...ok, quite a few beverages! Kelley and I rocked it out on the dance floor and we all had a great time!

Due to such excitement on Saturday, Sunday was spent mostly on the couch watching movies. Jay did put together this interesting and tasty chile relleno dish for dinner based off this recipe:

It ended up being a very inexpensive, healthy and low-carb dish that we'll keep in our recipe book for sure! Boy - this is turning out to be more of a food blog by the day...perhaps I should find another hobby!? :)

Jay is certainly getting to be one heck of a chef! I am sure it was ultra delicious for sure.
Mom
I hate to admit this but I was at Grams on Saturday night too! It was our friends last day of work there and we were celebrating cause they got engaged that night! I'm surprised I didn't see you!
