Going Postal

After spending approximately 2 hours yesterday stuffing and sealing our wedding invitations (may I brag that Jay helped
too?), I stopped by the post office today during lunch to get them weighed and to purchase special Love/Wedding stamps so they could get mailed this week!! The 20 minute visit to the USPS garnered both good and bad news:

The good news is that they weighed exactly 1 ounce so we only have to spend $.42 per invite to mail them!

The bad news is that they don’t yet have Love/Wedding stamps at the new price. L I was totally caught off guard – what do you mean you don’t have love/wedding stamps Mr. Postman? What about pretty flower stamps instead? Nope. No pretty flower stamps either. My choices were as follows:
Forever Liberty Bell (ugly)
Frank Sinatra (not so pretty)
Flag (um…I’m a patriotic girl, but really?)

As you can imagine, none of these really sounded that great to me. With the help of my friend Kelley and Mr. Postman (who was pretty nice compared to the usual workers I end up with) we ended up selecting the flag stamps. There are 4 designs, one for each time of day – sunrise, daytime, sunset, and night. They are much nicer than the flag stamps I was originally picturing, though I must admit that I am just a teensy bit disappointed that I will be missing out on my chance to use wedding stamps!

oh how funny! That totally stinks but just try and think, hey, everyone just throws those damn envelopes away anyway. I know how "important" it is now but trust me people won't remember the fact that you didn't have "wedding" stamps on your invites:) All they will remember is your special day and how beautiful both you and Jay will be on that special day!

poor Amie Leigh, can't have her love stamps. Look at this way, I'll have pretty love stamps and labels and you'll have pretty handwritten invites with flags :)

Love you and can't wait to see you in 2 months and 3 days!!!

Could you have gone to another post office? Or, are they all the same? I'm betting all the same.

I love Tricia comment!

Oh dear!
I must admit I never even looked at the stamps! So there Patricia my girl.
The thing I did notice was the fun activity on the reply card.
I just love you all so very much!
