One Happy Chica

I am one happy girl today. Yes, a lot of it has to do with the fact that I got married last month, but one of the other reasons is because Dunkin' Donuts is back!

You see, when I moved out here, Dunkin' Donuts were few and far between. They were old, dirty, and unkept. Until now. As of August 15th, all of the existing stores have been reopened after major renovations and new stores are popping up all over the valley.

Just last week I decided to just see if there are any by my work and as luck would have it, there is one just about a mile up the road! I finally went there to check it out during lunch today and am very pleased with the improvements. Aaaahhhh, that pink & orange store just makes me smile. The smell of coffee that permeates the air, the sound of coffee beans grinding, and all those pretty donuts all lined up on their lighted trays.

Today I decided to try one of their new items - a turkey, sausage & eggwhite flatbread sandwich. At only 280 calories, it ended up being a tasty and guilt-free lunch. Of course, I opted for the combo that included a medium sized coffee which I decided to get iced today. Here is a pic of the sandwich (excuse how dark it is - I took the picture with my cell phone):

So there you have it. One happy chica.

Yum. Though, I will admit that while I enjoyed DD's when I was home on vacation, I'm so used to very strong coffee now, that it was a bit too flavored and sweet for me. I'm sure I'll get used to it when I move back to the states and stop drinking such strong coffee.

although DD's back it's still not the same! I think it's the nasty tap water we have out here:( I am a Dunkin's coffee fanatic and I loved the FRESH honey glazed donuts!!! I miss driving less them a mile in my old neighborhood and receiving my "regular" greeting from my regular drive thru guy! Oh well, I guess something to look forward to when I go back home until then my new thing is McDonald's iced coffee, it's actually very good! When you have a donut, let me know if it taste the same:)

yum...that sandwich looks good. I'll skip the donuts though.
Where's the DD next to you? I'll have to check it out.
