The Twins are Here!

Sounding a little woozy from medicine, Kathy called Thursday night with the news that the boys had arrived! I was so excited to go visit the little guys and decided to go after work yesterday.

I left work a few minutes early yesterday afternoon in order to get a head start on traffic. After a good hour and 10 minutes of driving into the downtown area (it was rush hour), I finally arrived at the hospital. It was a long walk in the dark to the building and a long walk inside to the gift shop where I purchased some flowers for Kathy. As I was writing the card, I asked the woman at the gift shop for directions to the maternity ward. She started giving me directions to the 4th and 5th floor which was odd as Kathy was on the 3rd floor? Confused, the nice lady called the operator to confirm Kathy's room number. Come to find out I was at the WRONG HOSPITAL. Yup, for some reason I had the wrong hospital in mind and never confirmed with Kathy...next time I will be sure to triple check!

Luckily, Kathy's husband Matt answered his phone and gave me directions to where they were. Juggling a gift, flowers, and my purse, I made it back to the car and finally to the right hospital (which by the way was a lot nicer than Hospital #1), to the 3rd floor, and to Kathy's room where she was holding Timothy Joseph. The babies are adorable and Kathy looks great! I was amazed as the boys were each over 5lbs - very big compared to my nephews who were in the 2-3lb range. Guess that's what carrying twins to almost full-term (they were due 12/5) does! They were even hoping to head back home later in the evening which is great news!

Here are a few pictures from my visit:
